REPREVE Takeback™
REPREVE Takeback leverages a proprietary textile-to-textile recycling process to produce traceable, virgin-equivalent materials.
Collection of Textile Waste
Post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste — including offcuts, misprints, and end-of-life garments — is collected to begin the recycling journey.
Sorting & Preparation
The textile waste is graded and shredded, and may be blended with post-consumer plastic bottle flakes.
Resin Production with Traceability
Powered by our proprietary Textile Takeback™ recycling system, the shredded textile waste is melted and transformed into high-quality recycled polyester resin. Our FiberPrint® technology is embedded at this stage to ensure full traceability and product integrity.
Fiber Spinning
The resin is then spun into REPREVE Takeback fiber and yarn — ready to be used in apparel, footwear, automotive, home furnishings, and more.
Through waste reduction, decarbonization, and a shift to circular practices, Walmart is working to break the traditional take-make-waste cycle. Walmart’s design team turned to REPREVE Takeback — our globally available, circular polyester made through a closed-loop system.
